Providing Practical Solutions to a Range of Businesses and Organizations
Nestled in the heart of Placentia Bay, based out of Come by Chance, NL, Molloy’s Premium Consulting is owned and operated by Carol Molloy. For over 20 years, Carol has dedicated her time to working within a variety of industries, spent a significant amount of time away from her family to work on sites, while being a dedicated employee, mother, and spouse.
.
From sitting around kitchen tables on site with co-workers talking about what it is, to further conversations taking place at conferences the idea of starting my own consulting business has come to fruition.
.
To further compliment Carol’s efforts, she has served on the Board of Directors with the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association, the Board of Directors with the Newfoundland and Labrador Safety Construction Association, and dedicated time to mentoring Women in Construction throughout various provinces in Canada. Carol was also an influential member of a team of Safety leaders across Canada who worked together to improve the Gold Seal Program and most recently was recognized as one of the Top 50 females in Safety in Canada.
While operating MPC, Carol continues to educate herself, as she believes one of the keys to success is continuous learning and believes that every day is a good day even if you learn one thing, no matter how big or small.
Carol’s commitment to her business is truly inspiring, while being a mother, spouse and also serving as Mayor of the Town of Come by Chance, her time is never her own. In her own words “the busier -the better “.
Selecting the name for her company was a struggle but one thing was for certain M was to represent Molloy – her maiden name. Carol grew up in a small community on the Southern Shore called St. Shott’s, and wanted to ensure there was a way to carry on the Family Name.
Throughout Carol’s career which her focus has been in the following fields; safety, quality, disability management, asset management, business continuity and planning and the list goes on, she had many conversations with business owners who expressed their concern that there was indeed a missing link within the systems, and that quite often those individuals would rely on her for assistance. Keeping in mind that there are local businesses outside the overpass, Carol decided that her company would be mobile and have the ability to travel wherever, whenever possible. Her motto was Business in a Bag. Today her business is growing, and she has the ability to work with others while building her clientele.
Today, Carol and her spouse Matthew Best who is Vice President of the Operations learn from each other, with Matthew’s level of expertise of over 15 years working on various projects within the trades, he brings significant value to their team.
When asked if she regretted her decision to resign from a full-time job of 8 years and take a chance, she graciously said that it was because of the support that she received from her employer that made the decision easier, but it was a risk that she was ready to make.
